The Modern Gnostic is someone who loves and cares about you, someone you should also love and care about.  A Modern Gnostic is someone you should want to know more about and even become.

Modern Gnostics do not put anyone above you or below you.  There is no hierarchy which makes one individual more important or more powerful than the next individual, female or male, straight, gay, or other alike.  Modern Gnostics are all equal and strive to enjoy the Energetic Connection through which we are all connected to each other, and to all things.  Achieving this Energetic Connection is one thing that all Modern Gnostics seek and is Key in achieving Personal Enlightenment.

Modern Gnostics strive for Personal "Enlightenment"... the same as what the TRUE JESUS was trying to guide others towards during his lifetime, as represented in the more honest Gnostic Gospels from the 1st & 2nd centuries AD.

Modern Gnostics call this "Knowledgeable Enlightenment" because we understand that this energy carries all Knowledge and Experiences of all times within its threads.  Knowledgeable Enlightenment can be achieved through gaining the Energetic Connection which is achievable through personal technique and practice, and an understanding of the Mind-Set needed.  Knowledgeable Enlightenment can be realized and experienced only after the shackles of Society and Culture are understood in their operation, and then cast off leaving the individual with a clear and open mind, heart, and emotional being that is unaffected by the operations of Social Conditioning and Culturalization. The following "Understandings" are used by Modern Gnostic as a general guide into how we should behave and of what is important to us as a community.  Once a new Modern Gnostic has a good understanding of the many things discussed in "The Writings" Phillip advises each individual write down their own list of Understandings that will help guide their lives, behaviors, and perceptions.

The Understandings

 

We understand each man walks his own path and that, in Love there is no one, single path that is truer or more correct than any other.

 

We understand that there is no “judgment day” as postulated by dogma based, ritualized organized religions.

 

We understand that we are a manifestation of "God" on Earth (see Single Drop of Water).

 

We understand that the proposition that we are here and God is out there somewhere, separate from us is incorrect.

 

We understand that God is not a singular individual or being.

 

We understand that we are all energetically connected to each other and to all things.

 

We understand that in spirit (energy) there is no separation of man to man, or Man to God.

 

We understand that the energy that connects us is palpable and can be felt, tuned into and used to improve our Knowledge, Understandings, our Spirituality, and our Life Situations (see Connecting).

 

We understand that God is comprised of the sum of all beings and that each one of us, although seemingly individual is a vital part of the entirety of what we call God (see Single Drop of Water).

 

We understand that the organized “Christian” churches, although necessary in bringing the "persona" of Jesus into these days, are mostly based in the growth and promotion of power (control) and wealth rather than in the growth and promotion of Spiritual or Godly knowledge and truth.

 

We understand that to say “I believe” indicates something that one must be convinced of; but that to say “I know” is something (Knowledge / Gnosis) that comes from within ones energetic self, unconditionally and without question.

We understand that we are all responsible for the goodness and well being of every other person, to whom we are energetically connected in mind, body, spirit and purpose. Yes, we are our Brothers Keeper.

 

We understand that the true purpose of our existence is to develop the God Consciousness through which we, or our future generations will “Actualize.”
