The New Testament

The Authenticity of the New Testament

Jesus never wrote anything himself. No gospel, no letters, no notes, no diary. He didn’t have a scribe or secretary writing down the many things he said and did.

The twelve Apostles never wrote any Gospels themselves. They didn’t have scribes or secretaries writing down the many things they said and did.

The first of the four Gospels to be written (Mark) was done so at least 65 years after the “death” of Jesus. The other three followed during the next fifty years or so. It is obvious that if the Apostle Mark was an adult when he followed Jesus, and if people at that time only lived on average 40 years, he couldn’t have written the Gospel of Mark (he would have had to be over 85 years old). So it was originally written by one of his, Mark’s followers or even someone in the third generation after Jesus. The other Gospels were even further away from the source (Jesus).

It becomes obvious that if these "Gospels" were spoken histories for at least 65 years you begin to wonder about the accuracy of the stories... the Gospels themselves.  You can have two eye-witnesses to an incident, both of them were there and saw it happen in real time, and yet you will often get two different accounts of the incident.  That being true, one has to wonder what happened to these Gospel Stories that were told and retold, and then retold again and again over the course of at least 65+ years?

Thanks to the Roman Emperor Constantine and the Church leaders of his time and those who followed during the next 1000+ years, each book of the New Testament has been edited, rewritten, embellished, parts eliminated, and other added parts fabricated all in order to maintain a certain "story line" that supports a version of "Jesus" who supports the Church's agenda of Power, Control, Manipulation, and Wealth.

During this early time of Emperor Constantine there were many, many "Gospels," letters and writings circulating amongst the population.  Those that were chosen for the Canon (New Testament) were most likely carefully crafted edited, embellished in order to create a message and a perception that would adhere to a particular, specific agenda.

Those Gospels and other writings that were not chosen for the Canon of the Bible were systematically rounded-up and destroyed - burned.  The Church couldn't allow anyone to have any other ideas or alternative thoughts about the nature of God besides that which the Church authorized and dictated.

Luckily, some of these forbidden Gospels, Letters, and Writings were hidden and not destroyed.  These are the Gnostic Gospels found near the town of Nag Hammadi in Upper Egypt, in 1945.

The Nag Hammadi library is a collection of 13 ancient leather-bound papyrus codices containing over 50 Gnostic, Christian, and philosophical texts.

These Gnostic Gospels paint a completely different picture of Jesus, his life, and especially his teachings.
