Being a MODERN GNOSTIC
CHURCH: The Church tells us to "Have Faith." In other words, believe as I tell you to and do as I say because I know the truth and you don't (and you hope their right). Faith is upheld in the church through Fear and Threat... and you are Damned if you don't.
JESUS: Jesus tells us to "Seek." In other words, You, yourself search for, and investigate in order to find Truth (within yourself).
This Seeking as promoted by Jesus is upheld through Love, Consideration, and Self-Example... and you are Exalted if you do.

Becoming and being a Modern Gnostic is actually fairly easy. It's a different kind of Mind-Set and Belief System. Modern Gnostics are centered around the Knowledge Filled Energy that Connects all of us and carries the knowledge of all things and of all times. Modern Gnostics put others first. Not just in words, but primarily in actions. It is not about Power or Money. It is not about trying to tell you how to live your life or frighten you into behaving a certain way. It is about Love, Energetic Connection, and living a life centered around true Gnosis - knowledge of Spiritual Causation, Connection, and Community.
Modern Gnostics SEEK knowledge and understanding instead of cultivating superstition, fear, and manipulation as offered by the Church/Organized Religions.
Modern Gnostics should also understand how the Church was formed and the reasons behind it so we don't fall back into some manipulated power structure. (click here)
